Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

•  Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team of engineers, fostering career growth and technical excellence. Establish a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the engineering team. Conduct performance evaluations, provide regular feedback, and create individual development plans for team members.

 Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of engineering projects. Define project scope, objectives, and timelines in collaboration with product managers and business leaders. Utilize Agile, Scrum, and other project management methodologies to drive efficiency and accountability. Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring smooth project execution with minimal bottlenecks.

•  Technical Oversight: Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for Java and Data Engineering teams. Review and approve technical designs, code quality, and engineering best practices. Ensure alignment with scalability, security, and performance standards in all development efforts. Foster an environment where technical challenges are identified and addressed proactively.
•  Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison between engineering, product management, business teams, and leadership. Work closely with cross-functional teams to align engineering efforts with company objectives and customer needs. Communicate project updates, roadmaps, and technical challenges to stakeholders.
•  Budget and Resource Management: Manage the engineering budget, tools, and infrastructure requirements effectively. Work with HR and talent acquisition teams to hire, onboard, and retain top engineering talent. Ensure optimal resource allocation across projects to meet deadlines and business goals.
•  Strategic Planning & Process Improvement: Define and implement engineering strategies, roadmaps, and best practices to improve efficiency. Optimize engineering processes, development workflows, and operational efficiencies. Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
• Quality Assurance & Risk Management: Ensure adherence to quality standards, security guidelines, and compliance frameworks. Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate technical risks in projects. Promote best practices for software testing, DevOps, CI/CD, and release management.

Must Have

•  8-13 years of experience in engineering management, software development, and project leadership.

 Expertise in Project Engineering Management, Java, and Data Engineering.

•  Strong technical background in software architecture, data engineering, and distributed systems.
•  Experience with Agile, Scrum, and DevOps methodologies.
•  Proven ability to lead, mentor, and grow high-performing engineering teams.
•  Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and risk management skills.

Nice to Have

•  Experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and microservices architecture.
•  Familiarity with big data technologies, data pipelines, and analytics platforms.
•  Understanding of CI/CD, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure automation.
•  Exposure to budget management and vendor negotiations for engineering tools and resources.
•  Knowledge of compliance frameworks, data security, and enterprise software development best practices.
